Tooth Whitening

Daily brushings and periodic dental cleanings are often not enough for patients who desire bright smiles. Each day we expose our teeth to an array of staining agents (soda, coffee, tobacco, tea, etc.). Tooth whiteners, which get down into the tooth’s enamel to break apart staining compounds, are a safe and easy way to dramatically whiten smiles. At Mitchem Dental, we utilize the fast-acting Rembrandt® Sapphire™ Tooth Whitening system.

Rembrandt® Sapphire™ Tooth Whitening
Rembrandt® Sapphire™ is a revolutionary tooth whitening procedure that can brighten teeth by up to 10 shades within an hour. Advantages of Rembrandt® Sapphire™ Tooth Whitening include:

  • Tooth whitening is fast and convenient.
  • The effects of tooth whitening are long-lasting.
  • Rembrandt® is proven to be safe and effective.

Dr. Curtis Mitchem is a Rembrandt® Sapphire™ Tooth Whitening-trained dentist. If you would like to learn more about what Rembrandt® Sapphire™ Tooth Whitening can do for you, contact us.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin, tooth-colored shells bonded directly to your teeth to conceal and correct chips, cracks, stains, and misalignment. Made of durable, natural-looking porcelain, dental veneers produce beautiful, long-lasting results. Porcelain veneers are stain-resistant and indistinguishable from the rest of your teeth. Because a dental veneer simply adheres to the front of the tooth, we are able to place it without removing too much of the existing tooth surface.

Dental Bridges

In addition to the practical difficulties brought on by missing teeth — difficulty chewing and speaking, for instance — a gap in your smile can leave you feeling self-conscious about your appearance. Dental bridges fill these gaps with realistic artificial teeth. These semi-permanent fixtures (which can only be removed by a dentist) are an excellent way to restore your smile. Bridges or dentures can be fixed using dental implants.

Tooth-colored Fillings

Tooth-colored fillings, also called composite fillings, restore the natural appearance of a decayed or previously filled tooth. A variety of aesthetically attractive materials have been created taking the place of the unsightly metal amalgam fillings of the past. Also, tooth-colored fillings require that less of the healthy part of the tooth be removed.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding repairs minor imperfections such as chips, stains and gaps. A composite resin — which comes in several shades to match the patient's natural tooth color — is applied directly to the tooth and then reshaped and sculpted. After it hardens, the bonded tooth looks, acts, and feels like a natural tooth. Bonding aims to keep as much of the natural tooth as possible.

Dental Crowns

When a tooth needs to be strengthened, restored, or aesthetically improved, dental crowns are a perfect solution. Severely damaged or decayed teeth can be restored permanently using dental crowns or “caps.” Damaged teeth are reduced and crown is cemented in place, restoring the tooth to its normal shape and size. Crowns also strengthen the tooth. New clinical methods and materials allow us to create invisible tooth restorations.

Inlays and Onlays

Inlays and onlays are used when a cavity is large, but the surrounding tooth is healthy. Instead of reducing the healthy tooth to fit a crown, inlays — made from porcelain, gold or resin — sit in a hole in the tooth. An onlay sits on top of the tooth to build up its shape. Dentures

If you’re missing some or all of your natural teeth, dentures can benefit both your appearance and your health. Dentures rejuvenate your appearance, filling gaps and restore function to your mouth because they allow you to chew and enjoy your food again. Dr. Mitchem provides both full and partial denture care.
